Twelfth Night (the date, not the play)
Happy Twelfth Night!
(There is some debate about whether twelfth night is meant to be the 5th or the 6th, but I have decided to hedge my bets.)
On the down side, that means Christmas is officially over, and you need to take the decorations down if you haven’t done so already. On the plus side you should be getting 12 lords a-leaping, 11 ladies dancing, 10 pipers piping, 9 drummers drumming, 8 maids a-milking, 7 swans a-swimming, 6 geese a-laying, 5 gold rings, 4 calling birds, 3 french hens, 2 turtle doves, and a partridge in a pear tree in the post today.
This means that there is only one month – YES ONE! Until The Jack Burdell Experience’s Collaborations festival starts in Smock Alley Theatre.
In the lead up to this momentous occasion, 44 actors will be rehearsing 17 shows; lights will be rigged; costumes will be bought, borrowed, and sewn; scripts will be scribbled on; volunteers will be recruited; we’ll tech; we’ll dress; and we’ll have a darn good launch party.
Are you excited yet? We sure are!!
