And now for something a little different

And suddenly, as quick as it had appeared, the COLLABORATIONS festival took down the lights, packed away the costumes, and left the building. All of us in the Jack Burdell team have had an amazing time, and I am incredibly proud of how it went … thank you to all of you who came to watch a show; who wrote, directed, or acted in a show; who volunteered for us (you are heroes); or all the above. We hope you had a wonderful time, and look forward to seeing you and working with you next year!

If you are already experiencing withdrawal symptoms from the excitement of festival programmes and sitting in darkened rooms; you could always numb the pain with a trip to the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (or JDIFF to its friends), which is on in various venues around town.

It started on the 16th, and is on till the 26th, with a massive range of films available … Seriously. Massive. So ideally I’d recommend picking up a programme from Filmbase, reading it over a leisurely coffee in The Granary, then heading back to Filmbase to book all the little beauties that catch your eye. I reckon you might as well go for ones you might never have seen otherwise; my greatest achievement last year was discovering ‘Incendies’ one morning at 11am in Cineworld.

I hope you enjoyed our festival, we’d love to hear your thoughts. I hope you enjoy their festival too, I plan to head down tomorrow and re-emerge after the wrap party.

See you soon!
